PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
BRIEFING
This company provides tools, support, and workers for the construction and maintenance of warehouses, hangars, depots, and any other commercial and industrial building. They also produce BioGas, and provide manteinance for all of these services.
They contacted us with a double request:
1) they asked to us to remake their existing logo in a cleaner way
2) they also wanted us to redo it from scratch. More than this, we had to also provide a design for all their official documents, business card, signs, t-shirts for their employees, and basically any other commercial use.
We had free choice of colors, but they would have liked to have also a version including a "silver/steel effect" for their business cards and documents. They didn't want to include buildings or anything like this, but something different, and the company hame had to have a "masculine" look.
THE REMAKE PLAN
These requests made it necessary to split the project plan in two different branches: one for the logo remake, and another one for the rebranding from scratch, that we will see below..
At first, let's have a look at their previous logo, and the remake of it. We decided to make a sub-division here as well, by providing a remake in higher quality of the same logo at first, and providing also a new version of the logo, keeping the lettering as a main subject.
On the left you see their old logo: there you can notice some major flaws in uneven lines, composition, compression (they only had a very small JPG file); on the right you see our remake of the same logo, with some major improvement and some adjustments in the design as well.
Even though we have done this remake, we felt this was not the right way to go, so we reworked a new version, and we ended up providing also the following new logo, in different versions. A more modern, clean, and effective design.
THE REBRANDING PLAN
For this project, we couldn't go with a design that was recreating anything related to their activity directly, so we thought to redirect our focus to something else, something positive. We got this idea of starting with a classic business chart, representing a growing trend, sign of good business, positive mood, and dynamism.
From that simple growing line, some early versions of the logo started to emerge (you can see a few of them summarised in the image below).
The colors we choose were a shade of red/orange, and black: this high contrast choice was made to create a great visual impact in the viewer, and an effective mnemonic permanence.
This was the main colors palette choice for this logo.
TYPOGRAPHY
For this logo, we chose to use a custom font, created to have a "masculine" look (we used clean squared lines for this purpose) as requested, and clearly/easily readable.
MOCK-UPS
Providing mock-ups to this client was a crucial point, as we had to show many different uses of the logo, in very different fields, from documents to office signs and much more. As usual, also in this case we provided a quite big variety of mock-ups, and here you will find some of them to get a taste of what we can do for your company as well.
Almost all of these mocks-ups were provided to the clients before some minor changes we made to the definitive version, so you will find minor differences; this is totally normal, as we provide the mock-ups usually before the final product is chosen, as part of the final selection process, and of the review too.
This is a mock-up for a wall sign logo, as an example for what they could have used of their office walls.
This image served the purpose of showing to the client how they could have used the logo also outside their main buildings. We used a reflective surface mock-up to also show that the logo was working always, also when produced in different materials.
This mock-up was meant to show one of the possibilities for their "elegant version" of their documents, with the silver/steel logo as well.
This one is just another possible version of their documents, folders, and other objects, using the brand colors on them, to show consistency.
We also had to show to the client several possible version of the letterhead/headed paper, this was one of them.
A double mock-up of a business card design, with the silver/steel version, and the main brand colors (info censored, for privacy policies, on the back side)
This time we wanted to provide to the client a visual example of how the logo could work on t-shirts of different colors, mainly a black one and a white one, as discussed with the client; the shading used makes the logo visible also on a black background.
VARIATIONS
As we always do, we also delivered a version of the logo in total black, and one in total white. This is because these versions are very useful for two reasons: if the logo still works and is still easily recognizable in black and white, it is a good confirmation that the logo works, and last but not least, especially the black version, will be very useful for "fast prints", basically every documents is usually printed to be also copied (most common examples: invoices).
This was just a summary of what we can do for you, of course every case is unique and you will get a custom plan made just for you, based on your requests and needs!
